Tartines

img_20160917_091331_edit

We have a busy weekend ahead (painting, fixing leaky faucets, and cleaning the solar panels).  Never a dull moment around here. 🙂 I woke up craving tartines (open faced sandwich with various toppings) – cream cheese with wild blueberries jam, eggs on mashed sweet potato, and bananas with peanut butter – all on whole wheat toast!  They’re easy, kinda fancy, and really tasty. 😉 How do you like to start your Saturday mornings?

Have never heard the term “tartines” before, but after seeing your post, I absolutely would like to try offering up something like this the next time I have company staying over for a visit. What a lovely way to prepare a variety of options, and I can imagine that we have all sorts of possible combinations that can be made with whatever we already have on hand.

Thank you, not only for the idea(s), but for the photo, too, which really captures the simplicity of the concept. It also highlights the whole “a little bit special” aspect of preparing such a dish.

p.s. This is my first visit to your blog. Found you via a google image search, which took me to this page: https://flowersandspice.wordpress.com/2013/07/03/quiet-time-with-god/ Absolutely loved the accompanying photo (quiet time), so then I stopped for a few moments to poke about a bit, and am looking forward to exploring your site a bit more when I have time. Thanks again!
